On June 28, Gail Hoyt will participate in a virtual panel entitled, "A Year of Blended Economics Education – taking stock and moving forward" at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Economics at University College London. 


“College still definitely pays off,” said James Ziliak to the Philadelphia Inquirer.  “It’s a key to financial security.” And that will become more evident as we climb out of the pandemic and the economy starts moving again, he added. “As we regain steam,” he added, “things will continue to get lot better for the college-educated.” But, acknowledging the census analysis, Ziliak offered a caveat: “Higher education doesn’t preclude people from periodic hardship from the vagaries of the business cycle or unexpected health shocks.


Effective June 1, chaired professor of accountancy Brian Bratten will join the editorial board of Accounting Horizons.

The University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics has inducted five members into its Alumni Hall of Fame.


Endowed Professor of Management Ajay Mehra gave an invited talk, entitled "Gender, Structural Holes, and Legitimacy," for students and faculty at INSEAD, a leading European business school.


Working with a team of computer scientists, Ajay Mehra published a paper in the interdisciplinary journal, Social Networks on how gender and rank shape emergent patterns of social interaction on an Enterprise Social Media (ESM) platform.
