How do I...?

• Change my major or add a minor or certificate?
  • Majors and minors or certificates can be changed on myUK:  Under myuk GPS, in your program of study box, there is a link that says “Request a major change” - click there to change or add a major, minor, or certificate.
• Apply for a Gatton leadership program (Gatton Ambassadors, Women Business Leaders, and/or Graham Peer Advisors)?
  • Apply here! 
• Apply for a Gatton scholarship or other types of aid? 
  • Follow the instructions here!
• Apply for Upper Division?
  • Go to mygatton.uky.edu, and under Student Forms, click on the Appeal for Upper Division Admission.
• Make an appointment with my advisor?
  • On the Academic Advising page, there will be a link under your advisor’s picture.
• Make an appointment with the Graham Office of Career Management?
  • Schedule a meeting through Handshake by following the instructions here.
• Request an override for a full math course?
  • Visit here for instructions.
• Request an exception (e.g., to take courses concurrently that should usually be taken consecutively, withdraw from a course after the withdrawal deadline, etc.)?
  • Go to mygatton.uky.edu and under Student Forms, select and submit a Petition to the Dean.
• Use a repeat option to replace a grade?
  • After completing the course, fill out and email the Repeat Option form to your academic advisor using your UK email address.
• Earn credit for an internship?
  • Prior to the start of your internship, submit an internship enrollment form through Handshake by following the instructions here.
• Transfer credit taken at another institution to UK?
  • You can order an electronic transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse to be sent to the University of Kentucky (admissions@uky.edu). If you cannot find the institution you attended in the National Student Clearinghouse, you will need to request your transcript directly from the institution and have it sent to the UK Office of Undergraduate Admission, 100 Funkhouser Building, Lexington, KY 40506-0054.
• Apply for graduation?
  • In myUK, go to the myRecords section and select “Apply for a degree.”
• How do I reserve a study room?
  • Information on study rooms can be found here.
• Get my Dean of Student's Hold lifted?
  • Contact the Dean of Students at (859)257-3754.
• Apply for reinstatement to the Gatton College after an academic suspension? 
  • Complete and submit this form by the deadlines indicated. Students are strongly encourage to contact the Director of Advising to discuss that process.

• My cumulative, premajor, and major GPAs?
  • You can find them in your degree audit in myUK GPS. Under “University Requirements,” click the Graduation section to view your current cumulative GPA. Under “Major Requirements,” click on “Standing” to check your premajor GPA and “Major” to see your major GPA.
  • A pre-major GPA calculator can be found here (Calculator is based on 4 credit hours for MA 123, so it may not be the most accurate if you did not take that course through UK.)
• Help understanding my financial aid package and options?
  • Log into myUK and click on myFinancials
  • If you need to reach out to your financial aid counselor, you can find their information on the Degree Planning/GPS home page listed underneath your advisor’s information.
