As Real Estate continues to play a dynamic role in today’s business environment, we are committed to building a comprehensive and interdisciplinary Real Estate Program that will empower our students with cutting-edge knowledge, practical skills, and valuable industry connections.
Currently, we offer several unique pathways for students to engage with the industry, including coursework, student-led initiatives, hands-on workshops, and access to a robust community of industry alumni and professionals.
The two core Real Estate courses, Principles of Real Estate (FIN 360) and Real Estate Finance and Investments (FIN 464), are led by Mr. Shaun Sanders, MBA, a seasoned Real Estate professional, Lecturer, and proud UK alum.
These courses introduce students to essential principles, financial structures, and investment strategies. Both courses continue to experience significant enrollment growth, with demand exceeding capacity. This oversubscription highlights the need to expand offerings through additional courses and sections in the future.
An overview of the basic concepts and principles of real estate in the private and public sectors. The course provides an introduction to real estate issues and a foundation for further study in the various specialized areas of real estate and urban development.
The course surveys the sources and uses of real estate funds. The institutions which provide funds and the various types of financial instruments are described and compared. Likewise, various forms of real estate investment are analyzed and methods of determining value are critiqued.
Our student-led Real Estate Club (REC) is a thriving hub where students interested in Real Estate connect, share insights, and gain exposure to industry professionals. This group provides opportunities for networking, skill-building, and collaborative projects. Established just a few years ago, the REC has quickly grown to over 350 members, underscoring the strong interest and enthusiasm students have for the Real Estate industry.
