The Certificate in Financial Planning is registered with CFP Board. Completing its six online courses satisfies the education requirement to sit for the CFP® exam. Current UK students can add the certificate at no extra tuition; professionals can take it as non-degree students or through Executive Education.
The BBA in Finance (since 2012) and the Master of Science in Finance (since 2017) are members of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. Both programs cover at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge and emphasize ethics and professional standards. The affiliation gives UK students access to CFA exam scholarships and to the CFA Institute Research Challenge.
The Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is the entry-level FINRA exam for careers at broker-dealers. The department offers an SIE exam prep course, currently as a special-topics section of FIN 490; check the schedule of classes for the current listing. UK does not grant securities licenses; the course prepares students to sit for FINRA's exam.
Students can earn the Bloomberg Market Concepts certificate through the Seale Finance Learning Center, using the Bloomberg terminals available there.
