LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 21, 2023)  — The University of Kentucky is teaming up with UK Athletics and BBN Tonight on WLEX-TV for a new series, called “What’s Your Y?” 

The series is a play off the famous UK tradition of famous members of the Big Blue Nation walking on the court of Rupp Area to be the “Y” during the UK Cheerleaders’ KENTUCKY cheer.

UKNOW - LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2022) — A University of Kentucky alumnus helped create an app to make exercise more fun. Destin George Bell graduated from UK in 2020 with a degree in marketing from the Gatton College of Business and Economics.


CINCINNATI, February 6, 2023—In a ceremony held at Cincinnati’s Music Hall on January 26, the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter of the American Red Cross honored Chair and CEO Rodney McMullen and the Kroger Family of Companies with the 2nd annual Clara Barton Award for Humanitarian Service. This prestigious award is presented to a dynamic leader or organization that demonstrates inspiring humanitarian concern for our community and advocates to make it a better place for us to live and work.


LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2023) — After years of increasing educational progress, Kentucky is losing ground to other states. This is one of the key findings in the 2023 Kentucky Annual Economic Report, which was released today by the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) — the applied economic research branch here at the Gatton College of Business and Economics.


The Gatton College of Business and Economics is pleased to announce its continued collaboration with PNC Bank to host the 2023 PNC Innovation Summit, a two-day event that includes the PNC Innovation Conference and PNC Wildcat Pitch Competition, April 21-22, 2023.

 


Associate Professor of Economics David Agrawal had his paper "Online Shopping Can Redistribute Local Tax Revenue from Urban to Rural America," accepted for publication in the Journal of Public Economics, the top field journal in the area of public finance.


Yoonbai Kim, Professor of Economics, received the 2023 Korea America Economic Association (KAEA) Appreciation Award at the 2023 ASSA meeting. Kim received a cash award along with a plaque in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 6-8, 2023. 

 


 

Haoying Sun's publication titled "Supply Chain Planning: A Case for Hybrid Cross-Docks” won the 2022 Best Paper award at Omega: The International Journal of Management Science.


The Von Allmen School of Accountancy was well represented in the 2023 American Accounting Association's Audit Midyear Meeting in Austin, Texas this month.
