LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 22, 2022) — It’s coined “the most wonderful time of the year” — the holiday season is in full swing and with that comes the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping.

During the months of November and December, the economy relies heavily on consumer spending.

In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in more shoppers tightening their budgets. Now, with inflation and supply chain challenges, many are left to wonder: will this trend continue?

This month, the Gatton College of Business and Economics celebrated the accomplishments of successful women with the Women in Finance Summit and the Gatton Research Excellence Series. Our marketing students were surprised as UK basketball celebrity – Coach Cal, delivered a guest lecture. And finally, you you will want to miss what our students, faculty & staff tell us what Thanksgiving is about.

It’s all here in this gobble-gobble, gravy & gratitude edition of Simon Says! Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Congratulations to Sarah (Burns) John, Ph.D. ’13 [Economics] for recently receiving the 2022 Larry D.
