Congratulations to Urton Anderson, honored with the Auditing Section’s Outstanding Educator Award at the Audit Midyear Meeting on January 14 in Austin, Texas. This highly prestigious lifetime achievement award recognizes outstanding achievements in research & teaching.


The University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics is pleased to announce two Master of Science in Strategic Human Resource Management and Analytics (MS-SHRMA) candidates as President and President-elect of The Bluegrass Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).  


Sohee Kim, 4th year accounting Ph.D. student has received the 3rd stage of a doctoral scholarship ($8,500) from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) based on her dissertation. The IMA research foundation awards accounting Ph.D. students based on their progress and research and supports their research activities.

The Economics Society will host Treasurer Allison Ball for a talk Wednesday, February 15 at 6 pm. The talk is titled: A Discussion on Public Service and Unsung Heroes, and will be held Woodward Hall (Room 307) in the Gatton College of Business and Economics. The event is open to the public and co-partnered with the Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise. 


Join national, regional, and local experts to hear what you can expect from the economy in 2023 at the 34th Annual Economic Outlook Conference. This year's conference will be held in the Central Bank Center in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday, February 7. 


Registration is now open for the 13th annual Supply Chain Forum presented by the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics. The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on March 29 and 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 30 at the Campbell House in Lexington, Kentucky. 


This December, we are grateful for all the wonderful ways our Gatton Community comes together. As we look back on the year 2022, we are filled with gratitude for so many great things. We’re so thankful for you and all you do.

Taylor Begley's paper (co-authored with Daniel Weagley), "Firm Finances and the Spread of COVID-19: Evidence from Nursing Homes" has been accepted by The Review of Corporate Finance Studies.
