LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf’s Alex Goff was named the 2024 Men’s Golf Southeastern Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, it was announced at the conference tournament this weekend.

Goff, a graduate-student pursuing his master’s in business administration (MBA) at the University of Kentucky, is a captain of the 2023-24 Wildcat squad and one of the top golfers in program history. The 2024 SEC Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete was determined by a vote from the league’s coaches.

Goff earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance, finishing undergrad with a 3.899 GPA. He is a five-time Academic All-SEC honoree, an Early Wave Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar in 2021-22 and a GCAA All-America Scholar in 2022-23.

The Kings Mountain, N.C. native was the top Kentucky finisher at this week’s SEC Tournament, where he placed T14 with a 54-hole total of 208 (-2). He also boasts a 70.21 scoring average this season, the best in program history since at least 1993-94. Goff ranks second in program history with 78 rounds of par-or-better and holds the best career-scoring average of any UK player (minimum 45 rounds) at 71.41.
