Endowed Professor of Public Finance (Emeritus) and Martin School of Public Policy and Administration and Professor (Emeritus), David Wildasin is the winner of this year's Daniel M. Holland Medal. The Holland Medal is the most prestigious award given in public economics and recognizes a lifetime of achievements and contributions to the theory and practice of public finance.


The most recent Finance Society meeting was attended by more than 60 students, and featured an alumni panel offering advice about the changing recruiting landscape. They also shared  their experience working remotely during COVID-19.


Monika Causholli's paper titled, "The Market Premium for Audit Partners with Big 4 Experience", co-authored with Aleksandra Zimmerman (Florida State University) and Kenneth Bills (Michigan State University), has been accepted for publication at Accounting Horizons.

 


COVID-19 has disrupted lives all over the world. It is time for innovative solutions! The University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) and the Office of Global Health Initiatives will host an all-day COVID-19 Virtual Hack-A-Thon on Saturday, September 19.  In this fast-paced event, teams of two to four people will propose solutions to various facets of this global health problem.


At a time when data sharing and privacy are at the forefront of national conversations, University of Kentucky economics expert Dr. Kenneth R. Troske has joined the federal government’s Advisory Committee on Data for Evidence Building (ACDEB).

The Kentucky Distillers’ Association is establishing a scholars program to fund scholarships aimed at increasing diversity in the distilled spirits industry. The KDA UK Scholars Program Fund will annually support full tuition for up to four students in the University of Kentucky’s distillation, wine and brewing studies program.
