In the recently published paper, "Who Publishes in Economic Education? A Bibliographic Analysis of the First 50 Years of the Journal of Economic Education," authors Paul W. Grimes and Franklin G. Mixon, Jr. examined the characteristics of authors who published academic articles in the Journal of Economic Education (JEE) during its first 50 years. They identify economists who were most productive in developing economic education as a specialized field. Out of more than 1,800 unique authors over the journal's first 50 years, Gail Hoyt ranks 78th in terms of total pages published; and Darshak Patel's paper, "Incorporating Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook in Economics Classrooms" co-authored with Abdullah Al Bahrani (UKY Economics PhD `10 and associate professor of economics at Northern Kentucky University,) has been named the 14th most impactful out of more than 1,600 articles published. "Gail Hoyt and Darshak Patel are well known as award-winning teachers on the UK campus. But their impactful pedagogy reaches well beyond the campus to the broader Economics profession worldwide. We are fortunate to have them as members of our faculty at UK," said James Ziliak, Chair of the Department of Economics.
