The Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise (ISFE), part of the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky, is hosting a presentation by Keun Lee, vice-chairman of the National Economic Advisory Council, which is a key advisory position for the President of Korea (Chairman of the Council) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11. The program and discussion, titled "Can China Avoid the Middle Income Trap and Thucydides Trap? Assessment After the Us-China Trade Conflicts," will take place online via Zoom.

Lee is also a professor of economics at the Seoul National University (SNU), and head of SNU's Center for Comparative Economic Studies. He is a Fellow of the CIFAR (Canada) program on Innovation, Equity and Prosperity, and founding director of the Center for Economic Catch-up.

“Professor Lee is a leading expert on technological progress and economic development in East Asia, said Chuck Courtemanche, associate professor of economics and director of ISFE. "We are delighted that he will be able to share his insights with the UK community, particularly during this time of ongoing change in US-China trade relations.”
