The University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities has selected undergraduate students as new scholars for the Gaines Fellowship Program. This highly competitive and prestigious program selects 12 UK students each academic year.


The University of Kentucky Nu Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society established the Maurice A. Clay Awards over 30 years ago to recognize an outstanding graduating senior in each academic college at the University of Kentucky. Winners are selected by the college’s dean or a dean’s representative, and are expected to be exceptional leaders who have provided service to their college while maintaining a strong academic record.


Assistant Professor, Tyler Kleppe's paper titled, "Client Consulting Opportunities and the Reemergence of Big 4 Consulting Practices: Implications for the Audit Market," was accepted for publication in The Accounting Review.


University of Kentucky students win 2nd and 3rd place in the annual 2022 Econ Games, an annual data competition, co-founded by Dr. Darshak Patel (University of Kentucky) and Dr. Abdullah Al-Bahrani (Northern Kentucky University).


The Gatton College of Business and Economics has an elite opportunity, made possible by the generous contributions of the Morris Foundation and Nate Morris, Chairman and CEO of Morris Industries, to select a student for the Presidential Fellows Program at The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress (CSPC).


The Gatton College of Business and Economics is pleased to announce the expansion of its research mission. A new initiative for undergraduate students, led by faculty, has been approved for funding to create research opportunities for undergraduate students.


Congratulations to Dan Stone. His paper entitled, "Is Client-Specific Information Useful to Investors? Evidence from Key Audit Matter (KAM) Reports," with Dr. Yu-Tzu Chang (UK VASOA PhD graduate (2015), and Dr. Wuchun Chi has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance.


Congratulations to Monika Causholli, Brian Bratten, and recent Gatton Ph.D. graduate, Valbona Sulcaj. Their paper titled, "Overseeing the external audit function: Evidence from audit committees’ reported activities," has been accepted for publication in Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory. 


Dr. Aaron Yelowitz, Professor of Economics, testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship in a hearing entitled "Small Business Franchising: An Overview of the Industry, SBA’s Role, and Legislative Proposals."
