The University of Kentucky MBA Case team took 2nd place in the recent 10th annual SEC MBA Case Competition hosted this year at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business. This graduate-level competition allows SEC business schools to showcase their students’ skills at solving a simulated, real-world case covering the spectrum of business disciplines. This year’s case sponsor was WestRock, a sustainable paper and packaging provider.
This year’s UK MBA Team at the Gatton College of Business and Economics consisted of MBA students Brooklyn Stephens, Grace Salmon, Cornelius Smal, and Owen Stephens.
The UK MBA case team are all current students in Gatton's Full-time MBA program designed for young professionals and recent graduates across all majors. The cross-disciplinary curriculum offers diverse courses and electives, including built-in experiential learning. The MBA program also challenges candidates to master their soft skills in critical thinking, negotiations, presentations, communications, and problem-solving.

The SEC MBA Case Competition is an annual event organized by the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and hosted by one of the SEC member schools. The competition brings together MBA students from SEC member schools to compete in solving real-world business problems faced by a client sponsor. The competition aims to allow students to apply their business knowledge and problem-solving skills to real-world situations and network with industry professionals and other MBA students from across the SEC region.
