Dan Stone and Accounting PhD Student Alicia Irwin presented “How to Win Firms and Influence Students—Teaching Accounting Data Visualization" at the American Accounting Association’s Conference and Learning in Accounting in San Francisco, California on August 10, 2019.


Ph.D. candidate Evisa Bogdani presented her paper titled, “The Role of Assurance in Equity Crowdfunding” at the AAA Annual Meeting, August 2019 in the Research Interaction Forum. The paper is co-authored with Monika Causholli and Robert Knechel (University of Florida).  


Ph.D. student Evisa Bogdani presented the paper "The Role of Assurance in Equity Crowdfunding" at the International Symposium on Audit Research (ISAR) Conference in Boston, MA. The paper is co-authored with Monika Causholli and W. Robert Knechel from the University of Florida.


Monika Causholli recently presented the paper titled “The Role of Assurance in Equity Crowdfunding” at Catholic University Leuven, Belgium. The paper is co-authored with Evisa Bogdani (Gatton Ph.D. student) and W. Robert Knechel from the University of Florida.


Audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG LLP has named University of Kentucky professor Jeff Payne, KPMG Professor in the Von Allmen School of Accountancy in UK’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, as the 2019 KPMG James Marwick Professor-In-Residence.

Payne believes accounting students should understand the opportunities that technology provides in improving financial statement audits, but also importantly, the new risks that are created by their use.


Jenny Wang, ACC PhD student presented the paper, “Complex Estimates and Auditor Reliance on Artificial Intelligence at the 4th Ethics Symposium sponsored by the Centre for Accounting Ethics and CPA Canada, held in Toronto on April 25, 2019. The paper is authored by Dr. Ben Commerford and Dr. Sean Dennis, (UK Gatton College) and Dr. Jennifer Joe, University of Delaware along with Ms. Wang


Alicia Irwin and Dan Stone’s presentation, “How to Win Firms and Influence Students - Teaching Accounting Data Visualization” was accepted for presentation at the American Accounting Association's Conference on Teaching and Learning in Accounting (CTLA).


Dan Stone’s paper with Candace Witherspoon (UK PhD, Accountancy, 2012) has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Emerging Technologies, “Tax Preparer Certification, and Organization Form among Uncertified Preparers, Influence Client Satisfaction and Experience, Candace L. Witherspoon and Dan Stone, 


On Friday, February 8, Brian Bratten presented his paper (co-authored with Stephannie Larocque and Teri Yohn), "On the Informativeness of Unexpected Exclusions from Street Earnings" at the University of South Florida.
