Nancy Johnson, Associate Dean of International Affairs and Associate Professor of Management in the Gatton College, has been honored with the UK Confucius Institute’s 2016 Outstanding Faculty Award. This award recognizes faculty who have done outstanding work towards the understanding of and learning about China on campus and beyond. The Steering Committee of the Confucius Institute selected Dr. Johnson to receive this award based on her work developing partnerships with Chinese institutions and working with Chinese students and Chinese scholars at Gatton.
Joe Labianca's paper “Sociometric Status and Peer Control Attempts: A Multiple Status Hierarchies Approach” (with DeKlepper, M., Sleebos, E., & Agneessens, F.) was accepted for publication at Journal of Management Studies.
Wally Ferrier's paper, “Does it Pay to Compete Aggressively? Contingent Roles of Internal and External Resources” (with Goce Andrevsky) was accepted for publication at Journal of Management.

Steve Borgatti organized the highly successful 9th Annual LINKS Center Social Network Analysis Workshop June 6-10. Approximately 150 participants, representing 14 different countries, attended. In addition to LINKS Center faculty and graduate students, guest instructors included David Krackhardt (Carnegie Mellon), Phil Wilburn and Kristin Cullen (Center for Creative Leadership), Jeff Johnson (U. of Florida), Rich DeJordy (Northeastern U.), Tom Valente (U. of Southern California), Alan Daly (U. of California-San Diego) and Filip Agneessens (U. of Surrey).
