Walter “Wally” Ferrier, chair of and professor in the Department of Management in the Gatton College, co-authored a paper “Competitive Rationales: Beneath the Surface of Competitive Behavior” that was recently published in the Journal of Management. The study argues that the field of competitive dynamics can benefit from a more encompassing and nuanced portrayal of competitive interaction.


According to assistant professor of management Susan Zhu and co-authors, even if your organization doesn’t have a “blinding” policy for hiring and other people evaluations, it’s possible to reap some of the benefits.

University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that two recent UK graduates have been offered Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships to travel abroad to teach, study or pursue research for the 2021-22 academic year. 

One of those individuals was Schuyler Baas, a 2020 management and Lewis Honors College graduate, who will teach in Spain and lead a Model United Nations Program.

Endowed Professor of Management Ajay Mehra gave an invited talk, entitled "Gender, Structural Holes, and Legitimacy," for students and faculty at INSEAD, a leading European business school.


Working with a team of computer scientists, Ajay Mehra published a paper in the interdisciplinary journal, Social Networks on how gender and rank shape emergent patterns of social interaction on an Enterprise Social Media (ESM) platform.

"Technical Report: Impact of COVID-19 and Human Resource Management Agility Practices" by Susan Zhu was published by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.


Susan Zhu and fellow contributors recently partnered with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) to better understand how business schools and employers approach leadership development programs and how both parties can be better aligned to improve the leadership development processes and offerings at business schools.
