The Kentucky Distillers’ Association is establishing a scholars program to fund scholarships aimed at increasing diversity in the distilled spirits industry. The KDA UK Scholars Program Fund will annually support full tuition for up to four students in the University of Kentucky’s distillation, wine and brewing studies program.

Mark your calendars! On Sept. 16, the University of Kentucky will rally alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and fans to support the campus community through “One Day for UK.” Throughout the 24-hour campaign, donors are encouraged to support the college, unit or cause of their choice.


Assistant professor Ben Commerford’s paper (co-authored with Jessica Buchanan of Providence College and Elaine Wang of University of Massachusetts - Amherst) titled, "Auditor Actions and the Deterrence of Manager Opportunism: The Importance of Communication to the Board and Consistency with Peer Behavior" has been accepted for publication at The Accounting Review.

This fall, the UK Finance Society held its first meeting via Zoom. Dr. Wendy Liu, Director of the Wall Street Scholars and faculty advisor to the Finance Society, hosted the one-hour meeting which included five speakers from Koch Equity Development (KED). The panelists included analysts, associates, as well as KED’s director of finance.
