Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin this week announced the appointment of Charles G. Snavely as secretary of the Energy and Environment Cabinet. Snavely, a native of Prestonsburg, brings more than 35 years of experience in the coal mining industry to the position. Lexington’s fifth annual Global Entrepreneurship Week kicked off Monday, Nov. 16, evening with the Lexington Venture Club (LVC) announcing that the Central Kentucky entrepreneurial community created 280 new jobs and raised $50.6 million in capital funds in Fiscal Year 2015.

W. Rodney McMullen, Chairman and CEO of The Kroger Co. was the guest on Monday's "UK at the Half," which aired during the UK vs. Ottowa University game that was broadcast on radio.
Mr. McMullen earned his B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Accounting all at the Gatton College of Business & Economics, where he is member of the Gatton College Hall of Fame. More recently, Mr. McMullen was inducted into the UK Hall of Distinguished Alumni; the university’s highest honor.
