Dan Sheehan's manuscript titled "“In-Store Spending Dynamics: How Budgets Invert Relative Spending Patterns Within a Single Shopping Trip" has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Consumer Research, an elite marketing outlet. Congratulations to Dan!


The Pelissier Scholarship and NYC Trip Application for 2018 is now open through January 26, 2018. The visit will be in New York City from May 16, 2018 to May 24, 2018. Visits to Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, KKR, Mizuho, Redburn, NYSE and other firms will be scheduled during the period. Visits will vary in length from one to three hours and occasionally may exceed three hours. Evening visits may be scheduled. A faculty member will be leading the trip.


Will Gerken has been named associate editor of the Journal of Corporate Finance.


The community is invited to a special celebration with the students from University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics class, Economics 410: Economics of Altruism, Philanthropy, and Nonprofit Organizations, 3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday), Dec. 5, in Room 307, Woodward Hall, in the Gatton building.

The students will present their work with nine nonprofit organizations that are making a big difference in Lexington, and one organization chosen by the students will be awarded a $10,000 grant to support their activities.


David Agrawal presented “Relocation of the Rich: Migration in Response to Tax Rate Changes from Spanish Reforms” at the National Tax Association conference on November 11 in Philadelphia, PA.  


David Hardesty will be serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Retailing from 2018-2020.


Ben Commerford's paper “The Effect of Real Earnings Management on Auditor Scrutiny of Managements’ Other Financial Reporting Decisions” (with Rick Hatfield and Rich Houston) was recently accepted for publication at The Accounting Review.
