On April 8, the Gatton College held the third annual Stock Pitch Competition. Partnered with the Institute of Free Enterprise (ISFE) & Truist, and organized by the Department of Finance and Quantitative Methods, the event is an opportunity for students to carry out creative, valuable research in stock investing and to obtain real-world insights about business.
The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts, and each team gave a 10-minute presentation followed a 20-minute Q&A session.
A total of 18 pitches were submitted, and 7 finalists were selected. Chris Tan and Cooper Winrich took home the first place, and second place went to Trevor Payne and Jake Keys.
Said finance lecturer Peter Trager, "As a first year professor at UK, I was blown away by the amount of detail in the students' pitches. The judges were hard on the students, and they all held their own. The Gatton College should be very proud of the caliber of students we are producing."
Special thanks to funding partner, Truist for their support.
