The Gatton College of Business and Economics is proud to announce the results from the first University of Kentucky stock pitch competition. Funding partners, the Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise and Truist, the competition was open to all students enrolled full-time in undergraduate or master’s-level programs at the University of Kentucky. The faculty advisors of the Finance Society, the Economics Society, and the Wildcat Investment Club (Wendy Liu, Darshak Patel, and Will Gerken) jointly organized the competition.


University of Kentucky MBA alumna, Dr. Colleen Swartz, who is the current Chief Nurse Executive and Chief Administrative Officer at UK HealthCare, was recently inducted in the University of Kentucky's College of Nursing Hall of Fame for her extraordinary contribution to the nursing profession. Established in 2006, the College selects five alumni every five years. Dr.


On April 6 the Gatton College of Business and Economics held the first annual Gatton Honors Day Celebration. Students, student organizations, faculty, and staff were all recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, college involvement, research, teaching, service and more! Award winners include:  

2018 Faculty of the Year (student nominated): Nicole Thorne Jenkins, Jane Wells

2018 Top Staff Award (student nominated): Faith Cracraft


Brian Murtha has been appointed to the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Marketing, an elite journal. Since its founding in 1936, the Journal of Marketing has played a significant role in the dissemination of marketing knowledge grounded in scholarly research, as well as in shaping the content and boundaries of the marketing discipline. Congratulations to Brian!
