Alongside the entire University of Kentucky community, the Gatton College of Business and Economics is thrilled to celebrate the UK Men’s Soccer Team for their incredible season thus far. Claiming back-to-back conference championships and going undefeated in regular and tournament play, there’s no question that this is an extraordinary team. This team is host to a number of Gatton students.

One standout achieving student is Clay Holstad, a 5th year team member. Holstad is enrolled in Gatton’s One Year MBA Program as an engineering/MBA dual degree student. Having earned numerous accolades in his time as a team member, Holstad was most recently named as the All-Tournament Team MVP for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The team roster includes nine undergraduate students here in the Gatton College of Business and Economics: Casper Mols, freshman; Martin Soereide, sophomore; Enzo Mauriz, junior; Eythor Bjorgolfsson, senior; Casper Grening, sophomore; Mathias Yohannes, freshman; Andrew Erickson, junior; Cooper Kieran, sophomore; and Ben Damge, junior. Ben Damge is also a member of Gatton's Social Entrepreneurship Pathway Program.

On top of this, the team had four players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Soccer Team, three of the four are Gatton students: Martin Soereide, Andrew Erickson, and Ben Damge.

Lucky for UK fans, the legendary season is not over yet. With the NCAA tournament ahead of them, our wildcats have a few more games to make us proud and hopefully bring home another University of Kentucky NCAA Championship title. With their extraordinary performance this year, the wildcats have earned the overall No. 1 seed for the tournament, and received a first-round bye. The winner of the South Florida and Hofstra game, which takes place Thursday November 17, will face the cats on Sunday, November 20 at the Wendell & Vicki Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington. Join us in wishing our wildcats the best of luck!
