LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 8, 2024) Olivia N. Davis, CPA, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA) Board, serving from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. This milestone is notable as she is the first Black Board Chair in the organization’s history. Davis, a Senior Lecturer and Associate Director at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, brings a wealth of experience to this role. Since becoming a CPA in 2006, she has been an active KyCPA member, contributing to various committees and the Board of Directors. During her tenure, she announced the recognition of Helen Hifner Fortune, Kentucky's first female CPA, underscoring her commitment to diversity and inclusion. Davis is dedicated to growing the CPA pipeline, advocating for key legislation, and supporting future CPAs. Her significant achievements and leadership in the field of accounting will undoubtedly inspire many in the profession.



Olivia Davis joined the Gatton College of Business and Economics faculty in January 2018, following a distinguished career in public accounting with PwC. She is well-regarded for her ability to bring real-world scenarios into her classroom, enhancing her students' understanding of accounting and auditing. Davis also founded the Gatton College’s FASTrack program for high school students and Gatton Explore, further demonstrating her commitment to education. In addition to her academic roles, she serves on various community boards and has been recognized with numerous teaching awards. Her dedication to student success is evident in her efforts to prepare them for the CPA exam and her ongoing support throughout their careers.



Recently, Davis was featured on the "What's Your Y?" series on BBN Tonight, highlighting her passion for teaching and mentoring. She is also leading the inaugural education abroad experience, showcasing her commitment to providing diverse learning opportunities for her students.
