NACADA, The Global Community for Academic Advising, has selected Gatton College academic advisor Bethany Fugate as a 2021 Excellence in Advising Award winner. In February, Fugate was chosen as a regional Excellence in Advising winner.

“This is a great accomplishment for a great advisor,” said UK Advising Network Awards Coordinator Shaun Ketterman. “Bethany is only the second advisor in UK’s history to win both the global and regional Outstanding Advising Awards. We are proud of her achievement and it was our pleasure to nominate her for both of her NACADA awards following naming her as our Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor last year.”

As a NACADA Outstanding Advising Award winner in the primary category, Fugate will be honored at a reception during the annual NACADA Conference in Cincinnati. "To be one of the winners out of more than 12,000 members in this professional organization is a tremendous honor," said Gatton Assistant Dean Meg Marquis. "We could not be more proud of Bethany."
