As the Executive Director of our newly formed Professional Resource Center, and the Academic Director of our MBA Programs, respectively, Lorna and I feel both privileged and excited to continue to build on the strong foundation that we have with our MBA programs at the Gatton College of Business and Economics.
The University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics will offer the Pelissier Scholarship for the fifth consecutive year. Applications are open to all undergraduate students of all majors currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky with expected graduation dates between December 2022 and May 2023. The deadline is February 19, 2021.

When was the Econ Games founded and how did the idea come about?
On Jan. 23, 2021, Evisa Bogdani discussed the paper titled, “Does an Audit Office’s Quality Control System Impact Audit Quality? Evidence from Audit Report Errors” by Abbott, Blepp, Marquardt, and Merrell at the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section Virtual Midyear Meeting of the American Accounting Association. She also participated as a moderator at the FARS meeting.

University of Kentucky MBA alum at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, Lucas Witt, is the Co-Founder & Partner at MWM Consulting, Sales and Leasing at Block + Lot Real Estate. MWM and Block + Lot's partnership will provide a "one-stop shop" for existing and growing companies and communities with real estate, community development and tax incentive consulting.
On Jan. 22, VASOA Ph.D. candidate Valbona Sulcaj presented the paper, “Litigation Risk, Financial Reporting Quality, and Critical Audit Matters in the Audit Report: Early U.S. Evidence” at the 2021 Financial Accounting and Reporting Section Meeting. The paper is part of her dissertation work under the guidance of Professors Brian Bratten, Monika Causholli (co-chair), Dave Ziebart (co-chair), and Joseph Waddington.
"Technical Report: Impact of COVID-19 and Human Resource Management Agility Practices" by Susan Zhu was published by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Tyler Kleppe recently received several paper acceptances into competitive, peer-reviewed academic conferences.
He will be presenting a solo-authored paper titled, "Auditor Information Spillovers and Company Operating Performance: Evidence from Targeted Auditor Switches" at the AAA Auditing Section Midyear Meeting, the AAA FARS Section Midyear Meeting, and the Hawaii Accounting Research Conference.
