Nominations for University Research Professor

We invite all Gatton faculty to nominate a Gatton colleague for this year's University Research Professor. The nominee must have at least 30% of their DOE allocated to research and perform well above benchmarks in their research, scholarship and creative activities. Additionally, the nominees must be a tenured associate or full professor. 

Major dimensions of research success to consider (You do not need to address these in writing in order to nominate someone):

• Research success in the last five years
• Number of publications in the elite journals in the candidate’s field
• Number and quality of citations and other measures of the impact of the candidate’s research, including documented influence on the practice of business or on public policy
• Major external research awards
• Assessment of the overall importance of the research in the candidate’s field
• Invited presentations

Other criteria include:

• Number and dollar amount of external research grants
• Editorial service on high quality journals (editor or associate editor)
• Number of dissertation advised and the placement of the doctoral students

All submissions are due by February 7, 2025. Awards will be announced at the Faculty Awards Ceremony on May 1st.
