Cam Adams, an equity research analyst at Community Trust and Investment Company, Lexington, will visit the Finance Society on April 11 (Tuesday). Cam graduated from UK in May 2015 with dual degree in finance and economics. Shortly after graduation, he joined Community Trust and Investment Company’s Wealth and Trust Management team as an Equity Analyst. Cam's primary responsibility is researching and recommending individual equity securities to invest in. Cam’s tertiary responsibilities include, trade execution, account compliance, client meetings, and developing marketing materials.

Mr. Jim Patton will be speaking to the Finance Society on April 18 (Tuesday) from 6:15pm-7:15pm in Gatton room 311. Mr. Patton is the founder/owner of KPAC Solutions, an international private equity firm that specializes in turnarounds for distressed manufacturing companies. Over 95% of the acquisitions and/or divestitures they have executed involve publicly traded companies on the NYSE or NASDAQ. They have never had to close or bankrupt an acquisition. Mr. Patton’s career path is an unorthodox one.

Dr. Kathleen Vohs, from the University of Minnesota, visited the department on March 10 as part of the ongoing CEDAR speaker series in conjunction with the UK Psychology department. She presented her work examining how children learn to value experiences over objects, a phenomenon well-established in adults. This ground-breaking work seeks to examine the process by which preferences for experiences over physical objects develops.
