The Kentucky Blood Center's Big Blue Slam, which is Kentucky's annual competition against Florida, will be coming to the Gatton College of Business and Economics on Monday, January 23rd and Tuesday, January 24th from 10am - 4pm in Gatton's Woodward Events Hall . With over 2300 students along with the faculty and staff, the Gatton College has the ability to make a huge impact on the lives of Kentucky patients with their blood donations.

The Department of Economics with Chris Bollinger, President-elect of the Kentucky Economics Association (KEA) and program organizer, hosted the Kentucky Economic Association annual meetings . Over 120 economists from all over the state attended and participated in the event, which consisted of 15 concurrent sessions. The KEA honored Eugenia Toma with the “Kentucky Distinguished Economists for 2016.” Her presentation, “Education in Kentucky: Progress and Challenges” highlighted both her research, and how a researchers at the University of Kentucky are working on

The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, will host three Lunch and Learn sessions in the near future. All faculty, staff, students and community entrepreneurs are invited to attend. The sessions are free, but advanced registration is required due to limited seating. The first two sessions will be held at the Venture Studio inside the Gatton College building in room 124, while the location of the third session is still being determined.
In the first major lecture of the academic year, the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics welcomes 2016 Chellgren Lecturer and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi to the college’s Kincaid Auditorium 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. The theme of his speech is “The Role of Business in Bringing About Social Change.” The event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and advanced registration is required.
