The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics will host a One Year MBA Open House event on Thursday, February 1st at 5:30 PM, which will introduce the full-time, accelerated One Year MBA program along with the different dual degree options. All current undergraduate students, academic majors and young professionals are welcome to attend this event.
The Pelissier Scholarship and NYC Trip Application for 2018 is now open through January 26, 2018. The visit will be in New York City from May 16, 2018 to May 24, 2018. Visits to Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, KKR, Mizuho, Redburn, NYSE and other firms will be scheduled during the period. Visits will vary in length from one to three hours and occasionally may exceed three hours. Evening visits may be scheduled. A faculty member will be leading the trip.

Richard Hunt, a Director at Koch Equity Development, will meet with students 6pm-7pm on Wednesday, September 6, in Woodward Hall, Gatton 307, to discuss work in private equity and a 2018 summer internship position at Koch Equity Development, the acquisition and investment arm of Koch Industries.

The finance faculty hosted the second annual PNC Finance Conference at Gatton College April 28-29, 2017. Twelve papers were presented, selected from 320 submissions. Participants came from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Melbourne, Lisbon, Stockholm, and Vancouver. Lauren Cohen, the L.E. Kenny Domilise, a senior analyst at Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement System (TRS), visited FIN 485 on April 24 and will speak to the Finance Society on April 25. TRS-KY is part of the state pension system, with approximately $18 billion in assets. Kenny’s responsibilities at TRS-KY include portfolio management and credit analysis. He was a Co-founder and Director of Research of Water Tower Investments, LLC.
Nate Morris will speak to FIN 300 (Corporation Finance) students on Thursday, April 20. Morris is the Founder of Morris Industries and Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Rubicon Global, the worldwide leader in cloud-based, sustainable waste and recycling services. Under his leadership, Rubicon has expanded to all 50 states and across 16 countries on 4 continents, and was recently named the Next Billion-Dollar Startup by Forbes Magazine.
The department of Marketing and Supply Chain hosted the annual Southeast Marketing Symposium from April 6 - 8. The annual event brings together faculty and doctoral students from 11 leading, institutions from the Southeastern U.S. Attendees took part in a series of research seminars, networking events, and of course famous Lexington hospitality.
