On Thursday, December 12, twenty-eight teams from the Fall 2019 Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp, run by the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, graduated after completing a 14-week program. The VACE Entrepreneur Bootcamp, now is in its 5th year, is a 14-week long intensive program where teams work through early business and revenue models, customer validation and refining pitches.

Aaron Garvey presented his research on artificial intelligence in June 2019 at INFORMS Marketing Science conference in Rome, Italy, and the 2019 CLIK Behavioral Forum in Louisville. This research, titled "Ghost in the Marketing Machine: Consumer Susceptibility to Exploitative Offerings from Artificial Intelligences" explores how consumers respond differently to unfair offers for products and services provided by artificial intelligence versus humans.
One Day For UK is your day to make a difference for our Gatton College. On April 17, the University of Kentucky is rallying faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and fans to support One Day for UK, a 24-hour day of giving during which donors can support the college or cause of their choice.
Surrounded by family, friends and fellow alumni, two exceptional University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics alumni will be honored by the college April 11. Dr. Claire Pomeroy will be inducted into the Gatton College Alumni Hall of Fame, while Sarah E. Sanders will be the inaugural honoree of the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.
Darshak Patel co-organized EconGames hosted at Northern Kentucky University on March 29. This was made successful through the partnership with Abdullah Al-Bahrani (NKU) and 84.51. A total of 30 students (17 from UKY) competed in a data analytics and research competition designed to introduce them to real-world problems through a dataset provided by 84.51 group. Students learned about career opportunities at 84.51 and then worked in their respective teams on Kroger’s seafood customer data that was released to them that morning.
The Department of Management hosted the 2019 Mid-South Management Research Consortium, organized by Wally Ferrier and Joe Labianca, February 22-24, at the Gatton College. Albert Cannella, Texas A&M University, presented the keynote address, "Strategic Leadership Research in the Digital Age".
