Pakath-Holsapple paper published

Ram Pakath’s paper, “Business Social Media Analytics: Characterization and Conceptual Framework,” jointly authored with Clyde W. Holsapple and Shih-Hui-Hsiao, has been accepted for publication at Decision Support Systems.

Stone paper accepted

     Dan Stone’s paper (with Netta Weinstein) titled, “Need Depriving Effects of Financial Insecurity: Implications for Well-Being and Financial Behaviors” has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General.

Finance Students Pitch a National Winner

Gatton College of Business and Economics senior finance majors Tyler May, Joseph Back and Joy Gilfillan brought home the grand prize at this year’s national stock pitch competition hosted recently by the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. The competition brings students together with leaders from the investment community to showcase their skills in equity research and fundamental analysis, and to pitch stocks and get industry pros to evaluate them and give feedback on their work.

Will Gerken publishes article in Harvard Business Review

Will Gerken's article, co-authored with Steve Dimmock, entitled "How One Bad Employee Can Corrupt a Whole Team" was just published in the Harvard Business Review.

Lamarche receives Research Productivity Award

Tsage Douglas Interns at Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank

Tsage Douglas, a Sophomore Foreign Language & International Economics Major, accepted a summer internship with Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia where she will be working as Statistical Analyst Intern in the Research Department.

College Teaching Awards for Frank Scott and Yoon Seon Han

Congratulations to faculty member Frank Scott and graduate student Yoon Seon Han for winning Gatton College Awards for Teaching Excellence.  Professor Scott has taught at many levels and numerous courses during his career at the University of Kentucky including regularly teaching Managerial Economics to our MBA students and Industrial Organization to Ph.D.

Recent Publications and Events

  Dan Halgin's research, Halgin, D. S. Glynn, M. A. and Rockwell, D. Organizational actorhood and the management of paradox: A visual analysis, was accepted for publication at Organization Studies.  Also, congratulations to Dan on receiving a grant of $1550 from the Vice President for Research UK to be used for hosting our 2018 ION conference.

Finance Seniors win UGA Pitch Competition

Joy Gilfillan, Joseph Back, and Tyler May, finance seniors from the Gatton College participated and won this years national stock pitch competition, hosted by the Terry Business College within the University of Georgia. The previous students participated within the Fall 2017, Finance 485 pitch competition, moving on to represent the class within the national competition which accepted submissions from over 40 private and public universities throughout the US.
