Josh joined the Gatton College of Business and Economics advising team in 2021. He has worked in higher education since he was an undergraduate student at Kent State University. He has a passion working with all students and guiding them to accomplish their academic and career goals. Josh came to the Undergraduate Resource Center from Miami University where he served as a Resident Hall Director for 3.5 years. He earned his Master of Education, Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, and post baccalaureate certificate in career and academic advising from Kent State University. Josh enjoys networking and attending conferences, to grow as a professional, but to make connections to help be a better resource for students. Josh enjoys being outdoors, exploring new areas, coffee shops and being with his dog.

Introducing Josh Longsdorf!

Originally hailing from Northeast Ohio, Josh has found his home and passion in the Gatton College of Business and Economics advising team since December 2021. His journey in higher education began during his undergraduate days at Kent State University, where he discovered his calling in guiding and supporting students to achieve their academic and career goals. Before joining Gatton, he served as a Resident Hall Director for nearly 4 years at Miami University (Ohio).

With an impressive educational background, Josh holds a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, and a post-baccalaureate certificate in career and academic advising, all from Kent State University.

What captivates Josh about Gatton and its students? It's the remarkable dedication, passion, and drive exhibited by the students. Their commitment to succeed beyond the classroom is truly inspiring. Since his arrival at UK in 2021, Josh has experienced the warm and helpful nature of everyone he has encountered, making his journey even more fulfilling.

On a lighter note, here are some fun facts about Josh: He had an exciting experience as an extra in an episode of the popular television show, MTV Made, where a childhood friend was transformed into a pageant queen. Additionally, Josh is a proud owner of a Golden Retriever named Tucker, who was raised on a college campus, particularly in a Residence Hall. Tucker's presence surely adds joy and companionship to Josh's life!
