Introducing Bethany Fugate!
Growing up as the daughter of a retired United Methodist Minister, Bethany's life took her to various places in Kentucky. Although she has lived all over the state, she considers Columbia and Owensboro as her home bases, where she lived the longest and was most involved before joining the University of Kentucky.
Bethany's journey with UK has spanned 7 ½ years, with 6 ½ of those dedicated to the Gatton College. Initially, she worked in the college known as Undergraduate Studies before finding her passion as an advisor in Gatton. Her background in counseling and human development paved the way for her career in advising, where she could combine her skills and knowledge to support students in achieving their academic goals.
What captivates Bethany about Gatton and its students? It's the student-centered approach that permeates the college. Everyone in Gatton is committed to providing students with all the resources they need to thrive and succeed. The students themselves are hardworking and incredibly innovative, consistently surprising Bethany with their achievements and dedication.
On a lighter note, here's a fun fact about Bethany: She has a love for building Lego sets, with Harry Potter ones being her absolute favorite. The magical world of Harry Potter comes to life as she constructs these intricate sets with enthusiasm and creativity.
