The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE), part of University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) University Network. The CGI University Network consists of higher education institutions and professionals who support, mentor, and provide seed funding to leading student innovators and entrepreneurs on their respective campuses. This network also serves as a distinct global professional development opportunity for administrators and faculty, representing higher education institutions from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, and Hong Kong.
The CGI University Network brings together university staff members from around the world to connect, share best practices, and lessons learned in the spaces of social innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, career services, and civic engagement. Staff also support students selected for the competitive year-round CGI U program that provides access to a virtual Commitment to Action curriculum, high-touch mentorship, access to funding streams, engagement events, and Clinton Foundation expertise.
Director of The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship Warren Nash said, “VACE is excited to be partnering with CGI University to provide new opportunities to our students to explore innovations that benefit society.” Alyssa Trometter, deputy director of external affairs for CGI U added, “Since 2008, CGI U has brought thousands of students together to make Commitments to Action — service projects that make a difference in their communities. As students spearhead these Commitments, many find much needed support through our University Network. We are pleased to welcome the University of Kentucky Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship as our newest member, and we look forward to working together in assisting students as they work to tackle today’s most pressing challenges in Kentucky and beyond.”
The mission of the University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, in keeping with the Gatton College of Business and Economics Strategic Plan, is to strengthen Kentucky’s economy through entrepreneurship, and business outreach in the Commonwealth.
