The University of Kentucky recently made the Military Time's 2018 Best College rankings for veterans. Out of 218 schools that made the list, the University of Kentucky ranked #36 among 4-Year Schools that offer bachelor's, graduate degrees or both.
The Military Times: Best Colleges 2018 list, formerly known as Best for Vets: Colleges, included over 200 colleges that submitted a 150-question survey to be considered for their annual rankings. The rankings were "more competitive" this year, as a record number of schools participated in this annual survey with less than 50% making the list. Colleges were evaluated based on their survey responses and data from the federal Education, Defense and Veterans Affairs departments to determine how schools stacked up across five categories: university culture, academic quality and outcomes, policies, student support, and cost and financial aid. To create the 2018 rankings, they evaluated colleges’ survey responses based on veterans feedback, while factoring in data from the VA and Defense departments, as well as three Education Department sources: the IPEDS Data Center, College Scorecard data and the Cohort Default Rate Database.
The University of Kentucky is extremely proud of its long standing relationship with the men and women in uniform that bravely serve this country. From its founding as a Land Grant University in 1865, charged with teaching agriculture, mechanics, and military tactics, to its continuing production of leaders for the Army and Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, UK has consistently contributed to the defense of freedom. The Veterans Resource Center on UK's campus was established to continue that tradition of support by providing UK's military and veteran populations with the service and assistance they deserve.
