University-wide Navigation
  1. Tell us about where you are from and why you decided to come to UK and Gatton. I played soccer in high school, and we came to UK's soccer camps every summer until it was discontinued. Those camps were the first time I got to experience the campus. It's a beautiful place which was a great start. My parents also attended the university, and I heard great things about Gatton. Being just the right distance from home at 3 hours, it seemed like an obvious choice.
  2. What has been your favorite part about being a student here at Gatton? My favorite part of being a student at Gatton has been the endless opportunity. There are countless clubs, resources, and events to provide open doors for the students.
  3. Your parents are both UK alums. How did their experience influence your decision to continue your education here? With both of my parents attending here, their encouragement definitely played a role. They spoke highly of the school - namely the community, education, and opportunity provided.
  4. Tell us about the advising process. Tell us some ways that your academic advisor helped make your transition to college a smooth and meaningful one? My advisor, Bethany Fugate, is awesome. She is the sweetest soul, genuinely caring for me and the other students she advises. Whether it be navigating what major/minor to pursue, what classes to take, or what professors to learn from - she does a fantastic, thorough job in every meeting. It's been such a privilege to be advised by her.
  5. What are your plans post-graduation?  How can you see yourself giving back to Gatton when you are an alumni? The two most likely paths I'll be pursing after college are Christian music and/or residential development. Making music for the Lord and for others is my biggest passion, and the equipping from Gatton will play a massive role in managing that business. I also have really enjoyed getting to working in residential development over the summer and will totally be keeping that in my back pocket. Accounting, Economics, and Finance classes here at Gatton have also been very helpful in that world.
