Gatton’s new MS Finance program is pleased to report that all 22 students who planned to finish the program in one year successfully graduated on May 4th. The program celebrated this marked achievement by hosting an inaugural graduating class banquet for the students and their loved ones in Woodward, coordinated by Michelle Lowe and team. Smiles of accomplishment and pride were present all around the room as Director Dr. Mark Liu expressed, “One year ago, there was no University of Kentucky MS Finance program. However, our former Dean and current Provost, Dave Blackwell, envisioned and initiated this program to educate young finance professionals. And I appreciate all of you in this room who put your faith in Gatton College and in me.” Two of the programs graduates, Jenny Zhu and Matthew Cochran, also addressed their peers. Each voiced a deep appreciation for Director Liu, the MS Finance program Faculty and Gatton College as a whole. Cochran ended his speech by stating, “I am glad I decided to come to the University of Kentucky; it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.” The MS Finance program anticipates 60 students will be enrolled in the Fall 2018 semester.
