Patricia Naranjo
Assistant Professor
Patricia Naranjo is an Assistant professor of Accounting at the University of Kentucky. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Rice University. Her work, which uses international settings and textual analysis, identifies challenges and explores new questions related to investors' stewardship roles, the determinants of information frictions between managers and investors, and the role of disclosure in mitigating these frictions. She also explores the role of culture, language, and diversity in shaping disclosures. Her work has been published in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, The Review of Asset Pricing Studies, and the Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance.
Professor Naranjo received a Ph.D. in accounting from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.Eng. in Industrial and Bioprocess Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Before entering academia, she worked at Citibank and HSBC.
