Tyler Kleppe Ph.D., CPA
Ashland Oil Research Fellow, Assistant Professor
Professor Kleppe joined the University of Kentucky in 2020 after earning a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Arkansas. He also holds a BBA in Accounting and a Master's in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is an active CPA. Prior to entering academia, he worked as a senior associate at Smith & Gesteland LLP in Madison, Wisconsin.
Professor Kleppe's research interests include accounting and auditing regulation, audit market structure, and corporate governance. His research has been published in premier accounting journals, including Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies. In addition, his work has been presented at conferences and universities across the globe and has been featured on the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation, the Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog on Corporations and the Capital Markets, and the Duke University School of Law FinReg Blog.
