Ben Commerford's paper, "Control Issues: How Providing Input Affects Auditor Reliance on Artificial Intelligence" won the Outstanding Manuscript Award at the American Accounting Association ABO Research Conference in San Antonio, Texas.


As a young girl, Kennedy Ekovich dreamed of working on Wall Street. The dream will soon come true for the senior finance major and business analytics minor at the University of Kentucky. After graduating this December from the Gatton College of Business and Economics, Ekovich will head to New York as an incoming analyst at Mizuho Financial Group and work on mergers and acquisitions in its healthcare division.


Ben Commerford's paper "Man versus Machine: Complex Estimates and Auditor Reliance on Artificial Intelligence," was accepted for publication in the Journal of Accounting Research. The paper is co-authored with Gatton Ph.D.


Two Gatton College of Business and Economics faculty members were honored with the 2021 University of Kentucky Outstanding Teaching Awards at a Faculty Awards Ceremony held on September 30. The awards were presented to Olivia N. Davis, lecturer at the University of Kentucky Von Allmen School of Accountancy, and Darshak Patel, senior lecturer of economics and the director of undergraduate studies at the Gatton College.

The University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics will hold a Graduate Programs Open House from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12.
