Professor Olga Malkova's Recent Presentations

Professor Olga Malkova, a 2nd year faculty member had a busy summer presenting her work in both Europe and the US. Presentations in Germany of her paper "The Effect of Pension Tax Reductions on Labor Supply," include the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), Seminar in Labor and Welfare Economics (Mannheim, May 31st), the International Institute for Public Finance Doctoral School (Mannheim June 16th) and the Institute for Study of Labor (IZA) Junior/Senior Symposium (Bonn, July 12th) as well as in the United States at the IIPF Annual Congress (Lake Tahoe, NV, August 11th).

Two New Faculty Join Department

The department welcomes two new faculty beginning this Fall. Joonwook Park joins the department as an Assistant Professor, and was most recently with Iowa State University. Leslie Vincent joins the department as a Lecturer, and was most recently with Eastern Kentucky University.

Academy of Management Annual Meetings

Faculty and PhD student activities and research presentations at the Academy of Management Annual Meetings in Anaheim, CA, August 6-10: Wyatt Taylor, Eric Gladstone, and Ajay Mehra with T. Grosser and R. Assudani presented " Employee Perceptions of Network Change Following an Organizational Change."

Assistant Professor Presentation in Singapore Dr. Ben Commerford

Assistant Professor Ben Commerford presented a paper at the International Symposium on Audit Research in Singapore. The paper is titled, The Effect of Real Earnings Management on Auditor Scrutiny of Management’s Other Financial Reporting Decisions and it is coauthored with Rick Hatfield and Rich Houston, both at the University of Alabama.
