Professor Olga Malkova, a 2nd year faculty member had a busy summer presenting her work in both Europe and the US. Presentations in Germany of her paper "The Effect of Pension Tax Reductions on Labor Supply," include the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), Seminar in Labor and Welfare Economics (Mannheim, May 31st), the International Institute for Public Finance Doctoral School (Mannheim June 16th) and the Institute for Study of Labor (IZA) Junior/Senior Symposium (Bonn, July 12th) as well as in the United States at the IIPF Annual Congress (Lake Tahoe, NV, August 11th).
Professor Steven Lugauer's paper (with Horag Choi and Nelson C. Mark) "Precautionary Saving of Chinese and U.S. Households is forthcoming in the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking.
Ram Pakath and Shih-Hui Hsiao will present their paper, "Influencers in Social Media: An Assessment of Algorithmic Approaches in Big Data Environments," at the 2016 INFORMS Annual Meeting, November 13-16, Nashville, TN.
Kristine Hankins is currently in Dartmouth at the FOM Conference where her paper with Mike Faulkender and Mitchell Petersen entitled "Understanding Precautionary Cash" is on the program.
The department welcomes two new faculty beginning this Fall. Joonwook Park joins the department as an Assistant Professor, and was most recently with Iowa State University. Leslie Vincent joins the department as a Lecturer, and was most recently with Eastern Kentucky University.

Grosser and R. Assudani presented " Employee Perceptions of Network Change Following an Organizational Change."
Assistant Professor Ben Commerford presented a paper at the International Symposium on Audit Research in Singapore. The paper is titled, The Effect of Real Earnings Management on Auditor Scrutiny of Management’s Other Financial Reporting Decisions and it is coauthored with Rick Hatfield and Rich Houston, both at the University of Alabama.
