Congrats to Leo Li, David Rubenstein & Eric Winkler--CFA

Congratulations to Leo Li, David Rubenstein, Eric Winkler for passing Level I of the CFA exam. This exam is the first step in earning the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential, the most respected and recognized investment management designation in the world. This exam has only a 43% pass rate. All three students were awarded scholarships through Gatton to take the exam.

Bratten presents at AAA Midyear Meeting

Brian Bratten presented his paper titled, “Filling in the GAAPs in Individual Analysts’ Street Earnings Forecasts,” co-authored with Stephannie Larocque and Teri Yohn, at the American Accounting Association’s Financial Accounting and Reporting Section Midyear Meeting in Austin, Texas on January 27.

David Hardesty Appointed to Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Consumer Research

David Hardesty has been appointed to the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Consumer Research.  The Journal of Consumer Research publishes scholarly research that describes and explains consumer behavior. Empirical, theoretical, and methodological articles spanning fields such as psychology, marketing, sociology, economics, communications, and anthropology are featured in this interdisciplinary journal. Congratulations to David!

UTD Worldwide Top 50 Research Ranking Achieved by Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Marketing UTD Worldwide Top 50 Research Department

The department of Marketing and Supply chain is proud to announce that they are ranked as a UTD Worldwide Top 50 and UTD North America Top 50 research department according to the latest 2015-2018 publication rankings. The department is currently ranked #49 Worldwide and #44 in North America among marketing departments. Our hope is we can rise even higher over the coming months and years. Congratulations to everyone in the marketing department!

Williamson presents paper at U of L

Russell Williamson, PhD student in the Von Allmen School of Accountancy,  presented a paper co-authored with Brian Bratten and titled “The Effect of Mandated Performance Measurement on Voluntary Disclosure and Market Responses: Evidence from the EPA 2009 Reporting Expansion” at the university of Louisville on Jan 19, 2018.

Leonce Bargeron presented at AFA

Leonce Bargeron presented “What is revealed when firms repurchase against short selling?” (with Alice Bonaime) at the 2018 American Finance Association meeting in Philadelphia.

Comerford paper accepted

     Ben Commerford's paper “Auditor Sensitivity to Real Earnings Management: The Importance of Ambiguity and Earnings Context” (with Dana Hermanson, Rich Houston, and Michael Peters) was recently accepted for publication at Contemporary Accounting Research.
