Silas Deane currently serves as Vice President of Tyler Technologies. He is a successful entrepreneur who founded VendEngine, a leading fintech company. In a landmark deal, Deane sold VendEngine to Tyler Technologies. Earlier, he founded Logic Media Group, a tech-focused communications firm, and Baden Bath, Inc., a high-end bath fixture company; both were later sold. Deane also started other ventures including Vertical Supply and Deane, Smith & Partners. Before becoming an entrepreneur in Nashville, Deane worked in Washington, DC, for Senator Al Gore, Jr. and then for Congressman Bob Clement. He was also the spokesperson for the 200th Anniversary Tour of the U.S. Bill of Rights and served as Executive Director of the International Microelectronics Foundation. Deane holds a Masters of Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Economics from UK. He is actively involved in the community, currently serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship at UK and on the Executive Committee of the Nashville Technology Council. While at UK, Deane played on the UK Rugby Team and was a Student-body Senator. He met his wife Angela while celebrating the Final Four in Lexington in 1985.
