Professor Kevin Mei's research focuses on corporate finance, with an emphasis on financial intermediation, labor, and technology. His work includes empirical research into crypto scams, regulation, and preventive measures for crypto exchanges against romance scams, as well as theoretical models on the tension between crypto adoption and speculation. Additionally, his projects examine venture capital funding, open-source software, and firm project choices. Professor Mei graduated with a PhD in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his academic career, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group in Dallas and New York.
