Henry Clay Owen is the treasurer (ret.) for the University of Kentucky. He joined the UK business staff in 1964; he was appointed controller in 1969 and treasurer in 1982. He retired in January 2008 after his long tenure of 43-1/2 years, during which he was instrumental in establishing the university's automated accounting system, internal control system and other effective financial systems. Mr. Owen received his B.S. in commerce in 1961 and his M.S degree in education in 1977, both from the University of Kentucky. He is a University of Kentucky Fellow and a Kentucky Colonel.
