Evelyn O. Smith is an assistant professor of marketing in the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics. She received her Ph.D. from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.

Her research examines the economic and behavioral implications of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and how these technologies impact strategic interactions among firms and consumers. She develops game-theoretic and empirical models to study topics including generative AI, autonomous AI systems, algorithmic decision making and digital platforms.

Her research has been published in leading journals including Marketing Science and Production and Operations Management. Prior to academia, she advised and worked with leading technology companies and organizations including Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services and the United Nations.
