Aaron Yelowitz’s study “Impacts of the Affordable Care Act on Health Insurance Coverage in Medicaid Expansion and Non-Expansion States” (with Charles Courtemanche, James Marton, Benjamin Ukert and Daniela Zapata) has been accepted at Journal of Policy Analysis and Management.


Aaron Yelowitz appeared on KET’s Kentucky Tonight for the topic “Forecasting the U.S. Economy”. Bill Goodman was the host, and others participating in the discussion were Brian Strow (Western Kentucky U.), Chris Phillips (Somerset C.C.), and Malcolm Robinson (Thomas More College). Topics included current labor market conditions, trade agreements, health care, and subsidies for college.


The UK Center for Poverty Research, directed by Jim Ziliak, received a 5-year grant for $443,202 to partner with the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin to study poverty in the United States.


Carlos Lamarche was invited by the Center for Research Methods and Data Analysis at the University of Kansas to present his work on Quantile Regression. On September 16th, he gave two talks titled “Estimating and Testing Panel Quantile Regression Models” and "A Panel Quantile Approach to Attrition Bias in Big Data: Evidence from a Randomized Experiment” (coauthored with M. Harding)


Brian Bratten’s paper “Institutional Ownership and CEO Equity Incentives” (with Yanfeng Xue) was accepted for publication at Journal of Management Accounting Research.


Professor Kristine Hankins presented her paper, "Understanding Precautionary Cash," co-authored with Mike Faulkender and Mitchell Petersen, at the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, September 16.

Joe Labianca's paper “Sociometric Status and Peer Control Attempts: A Multiple Status Hierarchies Approach” (with DeKlepper, M., Sleebos, E., & Agneessens, F.) was accepted for publication at  Journal of Management Studies.

Wally Ferrier's paper, “Does it Pay to Compete Aggressively? Contingent Roles of Internal and External Resources” (with Goce Andrevsky) was accepted for publication at Journal of Management.
