Please read this email in its entirety as there are two requests made herein.
On the evening of Friday, March 13th, we received clarifying guidance from the Provost regarding expectations for college operations. The Provost stated that the campus would remain open and fully functioning for students, staff, faculty and patients. Accommodations and flexibility are to be extended to employees with compromising health issues related to COVID-19 and to those who have needs in terms of childcare. To that end, we are requesting that employees who fall into those categories complete the Online request form which will be routed to your supervisor and then to the Dean’s office for approval. It would be most helpful for planning if the form was completed this weekend.
The accommodations that the college is making available to staff will be governed by the university’s guidance. I appreciate your understanding regarding the process being followed.
As I stated on the college’s COVID-19 page, in every forthcoming situation, we will endeavor to minimize the disruption to students, staff and faculty as we respond to the evolving environment. We ask for your partnership as we face the challenges ahead together. I thank you in advance for extending compassion to one another and for your willingness to be flexible, both will be needed over the next several weeks.
Working from Home
Please follow the link Gatton from Home and click on the Work from Home link to test and report on your internet speed, camera, microphone and speakers. Also, please familiarize yourself with VPN access, Zoom usage, and ensure that the other programs and apps that you typically use for work are functional from your remote location.
Please complete the Work from Home tests over this weekend so that we can accumulate this information in our planning first thing Monday morning.
Regards, Simon
