Eleanor Krause joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky after receiving her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2024. Her research draws on public, labor and urban economics to study questions related to the environment, economic opportunity and geographic inequality. She has worked on a range of topics, including the labor market consequences of coal’s decline, how housing markets affect population mobility and environmental valuation, and disparities in exposure to risks such as extreme heat and air pollution.
Prior to her Ph.D., Professor Krause worked in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution and the U.S. Climate Initiative at the World Resources Institute.
