In the September edition of Simon Says, Dean Sheather talks with DePaul's new Athletics Director, DeWayne Peevy. DeWayne discusses his time as the former Deputy Director of UK Athletics and his experience in Gatton’s Executive MBA program. Simon also chats with management lecturer, Jack Kirn about his innovative online learning methods and provides an update on our Gatton Persistence Scholarships.

This month, we recognize two economics faculty members, Chuck Courtemanche and Aaron Yelowitz. Their research has been featured on several media outlets across the country, including CNN and Fox News. We also recognize students, faculty, and staff for their hard work and dedication with the new SGO Above & Beyond Awards. A special highlight -- Vice Dean Nicole Jenkins as she transitions into her role as Dean of McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. We will miss her!

In this edition of Simon Says, we offer a behind-the-scenes look at how our faculty and staff are working these days. You'll hear from Associate Dean Paul Childs, who has worked tirelessly to transfer over 200 courses online mid-semester. Paul goes into detail about how the college proactively prepared for COVID-19 and gives recognition to the many people who have helped along the way. We are proud to offer students the same high quality access and support - even in this challenging environment.
Happy February! It’s the month of love, and we’re focusing on two things I love the most: teaching and research. In this edition of Simon Says, three outstanding faculty members will discuss their research. I know you’ll be as impressed with these accomplished individuals as I am.
